Fynn Schenten, an 18-year-old striker from Cologne's youth academy, made his first Bundesliga start against 1. FC Heidenheim. The match ended in a 2-2 draw after the winter break. Despite interest from foreign clubs, he recently extended his contract with the German side until 2030.

Schenten has been with 1. FC Köln since he was eight years old. He worked his way up through every youth team at Geißbockheim before earning a place in the senior squad in December 2025.

His Bundesliga debut in the starting lineup came shortly after. The club announced his new long-term deal on January 29, 2025, securing his future with the team for another five years.

The young forward now has a contract running until 2030. His progression from the academy to the first team highlights Cologne's focus on developing homegrown talent. Schenten's decision to stay reflects his commitment to the club's long-term plans.
