Collin Morikawa clinches dramatic Pebble Beach win after two-year PGA Tour drought

Collin Morikawa secured a dramatic victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am on Sunday. His birdie on the final hole edged out rivals by a single shot, marking his first PGA Tour win in over two years. The triumph also pushes him back into the world's top 10 rankings.

Morikawa finished the tournament at 22-under 266, narrowly beating Sepp Straka and Min Woo Lee. The win adds to his growing list of achievements, including six previous PGA Tour titles since turning professional in 2019. Beyond the PGA Tour, he claimed the DP World Tour Championship in 2021 and dominated the LIV Golf League in 2024 with two victories and the individual championship.

Scottie Scheffler made a late charge with three eagles in his final round, carding a 63 to tie Morikawa for the lead. But Morikawa's clutch birdie on the 18th sealed the win. The victory comes at a personal milestone, as he and his wife prepare for the arrival of their first child.

This triumph marks Morikawa's seventh PGA Tour win overall. His last PGA Tour victory before this came in October 2023, making the Pebble Beach success a long-awaited return to form.

The win moves Morikawa back into the top 10 of the world golf rankings. It also extends his record of consistent high-level performances across multiple tours. With another major title under his belt, he now looks ahead to the rest of the season with renewed momentum.
