"He said, 'I want to tell a human story, and a mature one,'" which seems to align with the series' exploration of darker themes within the Star Wars universe.
Squaring off with Gilroy, his brother Dan Gilroy, and a heavy workload for six weeks, the team crafted the compelling narrative of the second season of Andor. "Purely, I was just a writer delivering scripts to my buddy Tony," Willimon added, expressing his contentment with their mutual understanding.

"I joined forces to aid the writers on Severance, as it was a one-of-a-kind show," explained Willimon. "The experience was incredible as there's nothing like it. I'm fascinated with projects where I don't entirely know how to approach them."
Calling forth his experiences on Andor and Severance, Willimon has rekindled his love for producing. "I can either provide valuable insight or merely facilitate the process without the burden of the project being my baby. It's all about empowering these teams to bring their visions to life."
