Thorsten Frei's Blunt Take: No Political Carousel with the Left

Allies prohibiting collaboration with the Left-wing parties, deemed implausible - Collaboration with the Political Left Considered Impossible without Conditions
Thorsten Frei, the Chief of Staff for the CDU, flat-out denies the idea of teaming up with the Left Party. At the Ludwig-Erhard Summit in Gmund am Tegernsee, he pointed out the CDU's incompatibility resolution from 2018 as a major hurdle. "As the CDU, we've got an incompatibility resolution since forever, mate!" Frei quipped. He has yet to hear of any attempt to overturn this resolution, which can only happen via a federal party conference. "Don't see anyone hankering for that," he added.
"Slipped Up"
Post-Chancellor vote, Frei mentioned that the Union would discuss potential collaborations with the Left for future political roadmaps. "But, mate, we're in a fair pickle now where we gotta re-evaluate a few things," Frei commented. This statement, however, seems to have ruffled some feathers within the CDU and CSU ranks. Frei now admits, "Clearly, I got a bit tangled up in my words there." He didn't mean political cooperation; instead, he was talking about the complex conundrum of how a two-thirds majority could be achieved in the Bundestag due to the adjusted majority ratios. In the existing scenario, collaborating with the periphery parties like AfD and the Left is no longer feasible, as witnessed during the recent rule change necessitated for the Chancellor election.
"No Match with the Left"
Regarding political alliances, Frei also emphasized that these require a fundamental portion of ideological alignment, "But there's no match with The Left, mate," he confirmed. Consequently, any alliance with The Left is impossible.
