The City Government of Davao has bolstered its emergency response capabilities with the acquisition of new equipment and vehicles. This move aims to improve services for Dabawenyos, particularly during emergencies and disasters. Here are the key additions and their respective offices:

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) has gained several pieces of equipment, including a rubber boat, ram jack, engine duo pump, life detector device, spreader, blue and orange hydraulic hoses, double hose reel core, V-struts, mobile high-pressure compressor, 120 rescue helmets with headlamps, two units of fiberglass multipurpose ladders, and two units of portable power stations.

The City Engineer’s Office (CEO) now possesses four units of pick-up type emergency response vehicles. Meanwhile, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Davao City Fire District has received four fire trucks and one incident command vehicle. The Coast Guard Station Davao has been equipped with one pick-up truck and one patient transport vehicle.

Task Force Davao (TFD) has added six mobile emergency vehicles and two pick-up vehicles to its fleet, while the City Agriculturist’s Office (CAgrO) now has two farm tractors to aid rural development initiatives.

These resources are crucial for boosting disaster response services, aligning with the city government's goal to strengthen emergency management capabilities. The acquisition builds upon a broader effort to enhance disaster management capacities. In December 2024, the city also received 38 disaster and emergency response vehicles[1][2][4].

This addition of resources is a demonstration of the city's commitment to the public, effective disaster management, and enhanced public safety[1]. The city's Central 911 was previously recognized for its emergency management response, being inducted into the Hall of Fame of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council’s Gawad KALASAG[1].
