In a unique collaboration, baseball legend Ichiro has been appointed as Special Assistant to Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda. This role, serving in an advisory and supportive capacity to the chairman, marks a significant step for Ichiro as he brings his influence and prominence, earned from his induction into the U.S. Baseball Hall of Fame, to the world of automotive industry [1].

However, the specifics of Ichiro's day-to-day responsibilities, initiatives, or joint projects with Chairman Toyoda have yet to be fully disclosed. What is known is that the business card presented to Ichiro by Chairman Toyoda was intended to help "spread smiles," reflecting the positive and engaging spirit of their partnership.

The journey began in a new Century car, as Ichiro and Chairman Toyoda retraced Ichiro's origins. This journey took them to the Iseyama ground, where Ichiro practiced from third to sixth grade. Reminiscing about his time there, Ichiro stated that the ground taught him the importance of persistence.

Chairman Toyoda, too, showed his enthusiasm, hitting a 120 km/h pitch at the Kuko Batting Center, where Ichiro used to frequent from third grade to the end of junior high. In the same center, Ichiro, with a wooden bat in hand, as he had his sights set on going professional, practiced diligently.

During their discussions, Toyota Times host Kyonosuke Morita joined Ichiro and Chairman Toyoda, as they discussed their next assignment. Chairman Toyoda urged viewers to submit interesting ideas via Toyota Times for their next project, hinting at a new and exciting venture for the duo.

As for the Century, the master driver and master passenger explained some fascinating features of the vehicle, playing the role of chauffeur in escorting Ichiro into the car. Ichiro, clearly in awe of the Century's powerful presence, seemed to share Chairman Toyoda's excitement for the future.

With their shared passion for excellence and a spirit of adventure, Ichiro and Chairman Toyoda are set to embark on a new journey together, looking towards the future with anticipation and enthusiasm.
