Coldplay to stop releasing albums after 2025's Moon Music farewell

Coldplay has announced plans to stop releasing new albums after 2025. The decision follows the release of their final studio record, Moon Music, scheduled for next year. Frontman Chris Martin cited family and health as key factors behind the band's choice.

The group, which formed in 1996, has sold over 100 million records worldwide. Their popularity remains strong, particularly in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, where they continue to draw large crowds. After 2025, the band will shift focus to other creative projects rather than producing new music.

Their farewell tour, announced as the final leg of the *Music of the Spheres World Tour*, includes 27 concerts. German fans will see performances in Hamburg (Volksparkstadion, July 11-12, 2025), Gelsenkirchen (Veltins-Arena, July 16-17, 20-21, 25-26, 2025), and Munich (Olympiastadion, August 4-5, 2025). This move mirrors a wider trend in the music industry, where acts like ABBA and Fleetwood Mac have also stepped back from releasing new material. Many artists now prioritise sustainability and a better work-life balance.

While no new albums will arrive after 2025, fans can still enjoy Coldplay's existing music and live shows. The band's farewell tour will give audiences a final chance to experience their performances in person. Their legacy, spanning nearly three decades, will remain a defining part of modern music.
