Wildfire risk decreases - Weekend remains wet and cool - Cold front sweeps Berlin with rain, wildfire risks surge in Brandenburg

A cold front is sweeping across Berlin and Brandenburg, bringing cooler air and unsettled weather for the weekend. Rain and overcast skies will dominate today, with temperatures dropping further by Sunday. The shift in conditions has also affected wildfire risks in parts of the region.

Today's forecast for Berlin includes mostly cloudy skies with periods of rain. Temperatures will hover between 8°C and 17°C. The Niederlausitz area may see brief dry spells, but winds will turn northwesterly or northerly as the day goes on.

Overnight into Sunday, clouds will persist with scattered showers. Lows will fall to between 4°C and 1°C. Sunday itself will remain mostly cloudy, with a chance of light, isolated rain. Highs will struggle to climb above 7°C to 10°C, though skies may partially clear by the evening. The recent drop in wildfire risk across five districts has reversed. As of 11 March 2026, over half of Brandenburg's 25 DWD monitoring stations now report at least a moderate risk (Stufe 3). Some areas have even reached high risk (Stufe 4). While no specific forestry measures have been announced, general restrictions remain in place. These include bans on open fires, smoking in wooded areas, and activities that could generate sparks.

The weekend will bring damp, chilly conditions to Berlin and Brandenburg. Wildfire risks have climbed again, prompting continued caution in affected districts. Residents and visitors are advised to check local updates and follow safety guidelines.
