Chappell Roan's Second Album: A Work in Progress
Chappell Roan, the internationally recognised US singer, is not yet ready to release her second album. Roan's debut album, "The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess", took five years to write and was released in 2023, helping her achieve recognition on a global scale.
Since then, Roan has released singles such as "Good Luck, Babe!" and "The Giver". However, her second album remains a work in progress. Roan has stated that she does not rush her music and that she doesn't make good music when she forces it. Therefore, fans should not expect her second album for several years.
In an interview, Roan revealed that she has been working with producer Dan Nigro since mid-2024. Together, they have developed about five to six songs with varied styles, including country, dance, 1980s-inspired, acoustic, and live-band 1970s vibes. One song, described as a "fun, up-tempo country song", includes fiddle, suggesting a new direction for Roan.
While these tracks exist, it is unclear if they will form part of a full album or be released as standalone singles. No release date or clear album timeline has been announced. Roan emphasises that she doesn't create quality work by rushing the process.
In February 2025, Roan was named Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards. Fans are eagerly waiting for her next move in the music industry, but for now, they will have to wait patiently for her second album.
