Coco Robotics unveils Coco 2—bigger, smarter, and weatherproof delivery robots

Coco Robotics, a startup born at UCLA, has launched its latest delivery robots, named Coco 2. The company already operates around 300 robots across Los Angeles, completing over half a million zero-emission news so far. Now, it plans to scale up production and expand into new markets.

The new Coco 2 robots are larger, more durable, and built for better autonomy than earlier models. They feature upgraded cameras and front-facing lidar to improve navigation. These robots can also handle extreme weather, including heavy rain and snow.

Production is set to ramp up this summer, with a target of 1,000 robots per month. The hardware inside is powered by Nvidia, the AI chip specialist. So far, Coco Robotics has confirmed news in Los Angeles and Chicago, working with DoorDash for food and drugstore deliveries.

The company is now in talks with officials in Culver City, Long Beach, and Pasadena to grow its network. Beyond the US, it also has plans to enter markets in Europe and Asia using the new robots.

With over 1 million miles already travelled, Coco Robotics is pushing ahead with its expansion. The next-generation robots are designed to work in tough conditions while increasing delivery efficiency. If successful, the company could soon bring its zero-emission service to more cities worldwide.
