Coalition ticket formed for DEG support

The DEG Ice Hockey Club has launched a unique initiative to help navigate the financial challenges brought about by the premature end of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The club has introduced the "solidarity ticket" and associated playoff merchandise as a way for fans to show their support and contribute financially to the team during these challenging times.

As the DEL season was cut short due to health restrictions and lockdown measures aimed at controlling the spread of the coronavirus, the "solidarity ticket" serves as a symbolic gesture for fans who bleed red and yellow. This ticket allows supporters to demonstrate their unwavering loyalty and commitment to the club, even in the absence of live games.

In addition to the solidarity ticket, the club has also released playoff merchandise. This merchandise not only serves as a fundraising tool but also helps fans maintain a connection with the team during the disrupted season. The 'In Heart One-Tribune' is offering a seat in row 19, seat 35, virtually transferable only, as part of this merchandise line.

Stefan Adam, the Managing Director of DEG, expressed his gratitude for the support and encouragement from fans in a press release from the club. He thanked all the red and yellows (DEG fans) for their contributions, emphasising that every contribution from the sale of the solidarity ticket and playoff merchandise helps the club.

However, it's important to note that the total amount raised from the sales of the solidarity ticket and playoff merchandise won't cover the economic loss the club has incurred due to the premature end of the season before the start of the economically significant playoffs.

Fans can purchase the solidarity ticket and playoff merchandise in the online fan shop or at Brehmstraße. The club's initiative mirrors wider impacts on sports worldwide caused by the pandemic, where seasons were suspended or canceled, leading to operating losses for teams and leagues. Clubs across various sports have sought innovative ways to engage supporters and alleviate financial burdens during the pandemic-induced shutdowns[1][2].
