Coaching staff accused of causing defeat by Plyuchev
CSKA Moscow suffered a disheartening loss in their recent game against rivals HC Spartak Moscow, falling in a nail-biting shootout 5:6. The match, held on September 17, saw CSKA leading 5:2 midway through the second period, but they couldn't hold onto their advantage, allowing Spartak to stage a comeback.
Vladimir Plushchev, the former head coach of the Russian national team, has severely criticized CSKA's coaching staff following the loss. Plushchev labeled the loss an 'unforgivable mistake' by the coaching staff, pinning the blame on them for the team's inability to maintain their lead.
Meanwhile, Spartak's impressive victory was built on their resilience and team spirit. Plushchev praised the work of Spartak coach Alexei Zhammnov in motivating his team after conceding five goals, stating that they displayed true Spartak spirit and showed their will to win.
Looking ahead, CSKA's next match is at home against Lokomotiv on September 19, while Spartak will face Avtomobilist on the same day.
Elsewhere, Russian forward Kostin is close to an NHL transfer, according to his agent, and 'Ak Bars' has secured the transfer of Alistrov after a trial contract. HC Spartak Moscow has also extended the contract of forward Mikhail Maltsev until 2027.
Regarding CSKA's coaching staff, there are currently no updates indicating the name of the new coach who could be appointed following the unfortunate outcome against Spartak.
