Patz became the head coach after assuming temporary charge following the disastrous 3:8 loss against 1. FC Nuremberg in late October. "Unfortunately, we haven't managed to secure our place in the 2nd Bundesliga as we aimed. This is very disappointing," said Patz. "As head coach, I take responsibility for the team's development, and I believe this decision is consistent and jointly made."
