In a thrilling encounter before a crowd of 75,000 spectators, Bayern Munich emerged victorious against Chelsea FC, winning 3-1 in their latest Champions League match.

The Bavarian giants took an early lead thanks to an own goal by Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, following an Olise cross. The equaliser came shortly after, with Cole Palmer equalising for Chelsea with a stunning goal after a swift counterattack.

However, Bayern regained their lead before half-time, as Kane converted a penalty ice-cold for his eighth goal in the Champions League for Bayern Munich. The second half saw more action, with Malo Gusto's unfortunate deflection leading to Kane's third goal for Bayern, making it 3-1.

Chelsea's best player's second goal was disallowed due to offside, and Nicolas Jackson, a Chelsea loanee, replaced Kane in the final minutes to a warm applause.

This victory marks Bayern's 22nd consecutive opening match win in the Champions League against Chelsea FC. It also marked Manuel Neuer's 100th win in the Champions League during this match, further highlighting Bayern's dominance in the competition.

Vincent Kompany, the head coach of Bundesliga club Bayern Munich, has set his sights on winning the Champions League title. Kompany, who took over the reins in May 2024, led Bayern to the 2024–25 Bundesliga title and is now steering the team in the Champions League.

Meanwhile, FC Pafos, who made their Champions League debut, surprised with a 0-0 draw against Olympiakos Piraeus.

Michael Olise was a constant active factor on the field for Bayern Munich alongside Harry Kane, with the Englishman scoring a double and securing the win for his team.

Uli Hoeneß, the honorary president of Bayern Munich, described the team as not appearing as underdogs, reflecting their consistent performance in the Champions League. This victory brings Bayern's total participation in the Champions League to 29.

As the Champions League continues, Bayern Munich will face FC Pafos away in two weeks as part of the league phase. The team, under the guidance of Vincent Kompany, will aim to continue their winning streak and strive towards their goal of winning the Champions League title.
