Clinging Tenaciously: Refusing to Release Hold
New Article:
Turning the Manor into a Bankers' Den
Like countless owners of grand, crumbling estates, the McIntosh couple finds themselves needing a diversified income stream—enter a pack of German bankers for a three-day stint. The crew consists of the know-it-all skeptic Andreas, the laid-back "Papa" Jim, the humorless bureaucrat Bernhard, the greenhorn David, team leader Linda, her trusty canine companion, a cook from Cologne-Nippes named Helen, and an unexpectedly foreign team-building coach, Rebecca.
The bankers hail from the on-the-chopping-block Richard Edel Bank, set to be absorbed by Scotland's Commercial Bank. Their mission? A workshop to test the gentlemen's obedience skills. Linda runs the show, assuring them no one will be left high and dry during the merger. But tensions simmer as concerns over layoffs brew, further exacerbated by the unexpected weather and power outages. With no mobile service and only an ancient rotary phone, communication becomes a battle.
To lighten the mood, they indulge in alcohol, music, and a sojourn to the hot tub. However, when the McIntosh family's beloved peacock and goose vanish, the search is on.
