Official Announcement

Welcome Back to Bavaria, Linus Rosenlöcher!

Just when the sports world thought the excitement was dwindling, FC Ingolstadt 04 shakes things up with a major announcement—the acquisition of Linus Rosenlöcher, a highly-skilled left-back, on a free transfer from his former team, FC Erzgebirge Aue. This Bavarian talent is returning home, revving up the anticipation for the upcoming season!

Sporting director, Ivo Grlić, couldn't be more thrilled about this signing: "Linus Rosenlöcher is an exceptional local prospect who's honed his skills across various teams at 1. FC Nürnberg before joining Erzgebirge Aue. Linus' agility and powerful left foot are precisely what we needed in our quest for a formidable left wing. We're ecstatic to have him on board for the new season."

Rosenlöcher's footsteps wind from FC Augsburg-Hochzoll, Tuspo Nürnberg, SpVgg Mögeldorf to the youth performance center of 1. FC Nürnberg. The left-footed player climbed the ranks at the Franconians, making his professional debut with the 'Club' at the tender age of 20. Over the next four seasons, he made five more appearances in league 2. In January 2022, Rosenlöcher was loaned to the Danish 2nd division club Esbjerg fB, where he played 11 games. After returning to Erzgebirge Aue, the 6-foot defender pitched for FCI's league rivals "Veilchen" during the 2022 summer transfer window, featuring in 84 competitive games and contributing 5 assists.

Wasting no time, Linus shares his enthusiasm for the move: "The moment I had the chance to speak with the decision-makers at FC Ingolstadt 04, I was hooked. I've long been familiar with the club, given its proximity to my hometown and my past in youth football. The matches against Ingolstadt were always my favorites - especially the last three years battling it out in the 3rd division. I can't wait to join the team, pitch in, and help make this season a triumph!"

With training set to begin on June 25th, the countdown to Linus Rosenlöcher's FCI debut is officially underway. Let the games begin!
