Clayton Keller honors late father with emotional return to ice

Utah Mammoth forward Clayton Keller played in a 4-3 defeat against the Dallas Cowboys just days after his father’s death. The team’s captain, who has been a key player this season, received support from both teammates and coaching staff during a difficult time.

Keller took to the ice for the Mammoth despite personal tragedy. In the 4-3 loss to the Dallas Stars, he was named the game’s First Star after recording five shots on goal in 18:07 of ice time. His performance came as the team honoured his decision to play.

Keller’s return to play so soon after his loss highlights his commitment to the teams. The Mammoth continue their season with a record just above .500, relying on their captain’s leadership. His contributions remain vital as they push for a stronger position in the division.
