Classic Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Set for Overhaul

Title: Revamped Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Steps into the Modern Gaming Arena

Get ready, gamers! The acclaimed third-person shooter, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, is making a comeback, modernized and polished for the present gaming landscape!

Under the expert touch of port developer SneakyBox, the revamped version—dubbed the "Master Crafted Edition"— promises a meticulous blend of nostalgia and innovation. Producer Vaidas Mikelskas, in a candid chat, described the update as a "thoughtful restoration... a respectful dialogue between past and present, preserving what made the original special while making it shine for a new generation of players."

The update includes graphical upgrades, a sleek modern UI and control scheme, visual enhancements for the Orks synchronizing them with the current franchise canon, and over 100 new voice lines.

Originally developed by Relic Entertainment and initially released in 2011, the game earned mostly positive reviews. A sequel was in the works, but the game's publisher, THQ, ceased operations. Two years later, upon acquiring Relic, Sega re-released the game on PC in 2021. Casual observers might not have noticed, but Saber Interactive was quietly developing the sequel for Publisher Focus Entertainment, which dropped in 2024 and already has a follow-up in the pipeline.

As of now, the rights for the first Warhammer 40K: Space Marine remain with Sega, who apparently haven't confirmed a PlayStation 5 version for the Master Crafted Edition. So, if you're itching to get your hands on this revamped gem, you'll need a PC, Xbox Series X|S, or Xbox Game Pass, with the release scheduled for June 10.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates! Don't miss out on the latest developments in the Marvel, Star Wars, and Star Trek universes; the future of the DC Universe on film and TV; and all things Doctor Who.
