Classic comedy by Gaidai to be remade, with Batrutdinov transforming into Shurik and Kravets becoming Nina
Get ready for a fun-filled New Year's Eve as TNT is set to air the highly anticipated musical comedy, "Unbelievable Adventures of Shurik." This film, based on Leonid Gaidai's classic "Kavkazskaya Plennitsa," promises to be a delightful adaptation with numerous homages, direct quotes, and jokes about old heroes.
At the heart of the story is Shurik's love story, played by Timur Batrutdinov. Marina Kravec takes on the role of Nina. The conceptual framework of the film is reminiscent of Forrest Gump's character, with Shurik embarking on a journey that takes him through familiar settings from "Operation 'Y'," "The Office Romance," and "Kidnapping, Caucasian Style."
The film boasts an impressive cast of over 60 actors and show business stars, including Philip Kirkorov, who plays Hippolit in an unusual role. Roman Kim and Mikhail Semichev, known for their previous New Year's hits, are the directors of the film.
Music plays a significant role in "Unbelievable Adventures of Shurik." The film features musical numbers that showcase famous performers trying new styles. It's not just a movie; it's a musical extravaganza!
TNT continues to remake Soviet cinema classics, despite criticism. After "Ivan Vasilyevich Changes Everything" and "Non-Briilliant Hand," "Unbelievable Adventures of Shurik" is the latest addition to this trend.
The film's title sequence promises many recognizable cinematic references and unexpected plot twists. There's even a special surprise at the end of the film, with 11 bright Russian cinema stars making cameo appearances.
Unfortunately, Dmitry Sharakois, who played Shurik in a previous remake, had to flee the country after an unforgettable shame. Regardless, the show must go on, and "Unbelievable Adventures of Shurik" promises to be a spectacular New Year's treat for audiences.
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project. Catch "Unbelievable Adventures of Shurik" on TNT on New Year's Eve, December 31.
