Mario Kart Tour: Bowser vs. Donkey Kong Tour Unveils Exciting Weekly Features
Get ready for an exciting limited-time event in the world of Mario Kart Tour! The Bowser vs. Donkey Kong Tour is set to take place from May 4 at 11:00 p.m. PT to May 18 at 10:59 p.m. PT. This tour brings a host of new challenges, exclusive rewards, and favourite characters to the track.
During this tour, players will find that the third course of every cup features favoured courses for Cat Peach, Cat Toad, and other drivers. In Week 2, Cat Peach and Cat Toad, along with their associated karts and gliders, take centre stage. The Cat Cruiser kart, the Head Honcho kart, the Black Toe-Bean Balloons glider, and the Calico Parafoil glider can all be found in the game.
But that's not all! The Bowser vs. Donkey Kong Tour also introduces the Team Rally event. In this event, players join teams and race to collectively earn points for their region. The team that collects the most Team Tokens by the end wins. Rewards unlocked by reaching point milestones include exclusive cosmetic items and other in-game benefits.
The Team Rally event encourages cooperative competition between regions or teams rather than individual ranking. While the exact detailed mechanics or scoring system for Team Rally are not fully detailed, the key aspect is the regional teamwork to accumulate points, which unlocks special rewards.
In-game purchases are optional, and a persistent internet, compatible smartphone, and Nintendo Account are required to play. Data charges may apply. Regardless of the outcome, all players receive limited badges, coins, and rubies. The top team gets 15 rubies, 3,000 coins, and a gold badge, while other participants get 10 rubies, 1,500 coins, and a silver badge.
During the tour, players can also find Team Tokens on the track and based on their score. The Token Shop offers additional items in exchange for Team Tokens. The Team Bowser Pipe and Team DK Pipe will be available from May 8 at 11 p.m. PT until May 18 at 10:59 p.m. PT to help build a team roster.
Additional karts and gliders can also be found in the pipes. The Tour gifts for this event include Baby Mario, Lemmy, Baby Luigi, Wendy, Bowser Jr., Diddy Kong, the Bullet Blaster kart, the Bull's Eye Banzai kart, and the Bullet Bill Parachute glider. However, to receive these Tour gifts, a Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass subscription is required, and enough Grand Stars must be earned.
In Week 1 of the event, players can enjoy races featuring Dry Bowser and Funky Kong, along with specific karts and gliders. City courses, special in-game event courses inspired by real-world locations, are available during specific time periods and take place every two weeks.
