Pitcher Report| June 1st

Yak City

Kicking things off, Jameson Taillon is a name that instantly catches the eye. He's posted a 3.86 ERA this season and is surrendering just over 2 HR/9. However, Taillon has struggled against the Reds lineup in his career, letting in homeruns to Friedl (2), Stephenson, Steer, and Benson.

Another pitcher battling with the long ball is JP Sears. With a 5.18 ERA this year, Sears is allowing opposing batters to hit .267 and is giving up 2 HR/9. He doesn't have much experience against Toronto, but Dalton Varsho's been a thorn in his side, hitting .600 off him with a homerun.

Lastly, we've got Charlie Morton back on the mound for the Baltimore Orioles. Morton's clocked in at a 7.09 ERA with the O's this year, giving up 1.9 HR/9 and allowing opposing hitters to hit .276. He's won just 1 of his 13 starts so far this season and faces a struggling White Sox team today.

Weather Watch

Unfortunately, today's weather report isn't as sunny as yesterday's. Conditions at Dodger Stadium remain pristine, with wind still blowing out toward right field. It's the final game of this World Series rematch, and the Dodgers have won both games so far, outscoring the Yankees 26-7 across the two games.

Tonight we've got Yamamoto taking the mound for the Dodgers and Yarbough for the Yankees. Both pitchers have been solid this year, but Yamamoto's been phenomenal this year. He's got a 1.97 ERA and has only surrendered 5 homeruns on the season.

Elsewhere on the West Coast, it's the Padres and Pirates playing the finale of their 3-game series. The Pirates won in shutout fashion yesterday, holding the Padres to just 2 hits over the entire game. Tonight the Padres will face Andrew Heaney, a left-handed pitcher who struggled in his last start against the Padres.

In the desert, the Diamondbacks and Nationals go head-to-head. The Nationals put up 11 runs against the Diamondbacks yesterday, and by the time Arizona woke up, it was already too late. Look for them to respond today against the left-handed Mitchell Parker.

Our Best Bets for Sunday, June 1st.

Shohei Ohtani o1.5 Total Bases (-125 via BetOnline)

We're backing the best baseball player in the game; what a shocker, right? Ohtani's been on a different level this year, posting a .298 batting average. That jumps up to .305 whenever he's at Dodger Stadium. Ohtani's already smacked 22 HR this year and doesn't seem to be slowing down.

Ohtani leads the team in hits, runs, and homeruns, collecting 37 RBI so far this season and looking primed for another MVP-worthy season.

For the Yankees, Ryan Yarbrough is taking the mound. Ohtani's recorded 10 at-bats against Yarbrough in his career, hitting .400 against the lefty with 2 doubles and 1 HR. Ohtani's hitting .325 against lefties this year with a .600 SLG.

Through two games against New York, Ohtani's hit .444 with 2 HR (both last night) and gets another chance today to complete the series sweep.

Bonus: Shohei Ohtani Home Run (+255)

Manny Machado o1.5 Total Bases (+100 via BetOnline)

Manny Machado's been phenomenal this season, posting a .308 batting average with a .476 SLG. He's been putting the pressure on opposing defenses all year, despite recent team struggles. Tonight they face off with the Pirates in the final game of this 3-game series, coming off a game where the team was held to just two hits.

Machado's got a career batting average of .286 against Andrew Heaney and has been showering left-handed pitchers with homeruns all year. Manny's hitting .327 against lefties this year with 4 of his 6 HR coming against southpaws.

The conditions in San Diego look promising with wind blowing out toward right field, making this a good day for Manny to hit his 7th HR of the season.

Bonus Bet: Manny Machado Home Run (+350)
