Instead of cheering for your teams at Dozer Park in Peoria, you'll be heading to Champaign this year! The Class 1A/2A High School state baseball finals have been uprooted due to a scheduling clash with the Peoria Chiefs. With their home series at Dozer Park overlapping the finals' dates (June 6th and 7th), the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) has decided to relocate the event[1][2][3].

The state baseball finals have enjoyed a strong 10-year run in Peoria since 2011. However, this year, the action will unfold on the homefield of the University of Illinois[4]. This change of venue opens up new opportunities for Champaign County, economically, as it prepares to host the exciting event.
