Clash following right-wing rally prompts state investigation into security measures
In an unexpected turn of events, a political rally organised by the left-wing party "Demokratische Allianz" at the city's main convention center was disrupted by a violent brawl.
The incident, which lasted for approximately 15 minutes, saw punches and kicks being thrown among the crowd. Four people were lightly injured during the brawl.
The right-wing party "Die Heimat", who had been invited to the rally, were the instigators of the altercation. An argument broke out immediately after their supporters entered the venue.
Despite the security measures put in place for the rally being inadequate to prevent the brawl, the attackers fled the scene but were quickly apprehended.
A total of 19 suspects, including seven minors, are currently under investigation. The state's counter-terrorism unit is leading the investigation.
In response to the violence, the local authorities have issued a statement condemning the incident. The left-wing party "Demokratische Allianz" had also requested additional security for the rally, but it seems their plea was not heeded.
The right-wing party "Die Heimat" has not yet released a statement regarding the incident. The rally was disrupted for several hours due to the brawl, causing delays and inconvenience for those in attendance.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of maintaining peace and order during political events. As the investigation continues, we will keep you updated on any further developments.
