Clash between Albstadt and TSG 2 resulted in disappointment for blue and white supporters.
In a thrilling encounter between Balingen and Albstadt, the home team emerged victorious, securing a commanding 4-1 win in their latest Regionalliga clash.
The first half saw Balingen holding onto a narrow 1-0 lead, despite Albstadt's persistent pressure. The opening goal came early, with Balingen capitalising on a rare opportunity in the face of Albstadt's early dominance.
Albstadt created the first real excitement of the game in the fifth minute, but the chance was disrupted by Balingen's defender, Güngör, who made a timely intervention. The visitors continued to generate better chances, while Balingen offered little in the early stages.
The second half began with a quick fire second goal for Balingen U23, extending their lead to two goals. Jaden Quartey was the scorer, capitalising on a long ball from Maier in the box.
Akbaba made a tactical substitution, bringing on Mazrekaj for Marco Bacher in the 55th minute, as Balingen sought to consolidate their lead. However, Albstadt refused to give up, with Güngör having a chance to reduce the deficit but missing the Balingen goal.
Balingen responded with a third goal, scored by Bastian Berger from a sharp angle. The goal put the game beyond Albstadt's reach, and despite Güngör's late effort going over the bar, the final score remained 3-1 in favour of Balingen.
The final goal came in the 64th minute, with Berger once again finding the back of the net. The referee, John Köber, did not take action after a rough challenge from Feher against Güngör in the 35th minute, which could have potentially changed the course of the game.
The Nullsiebener will face the next league heavyweight, VfL Nagold, in the next matchday, scheduled for Saturday, 27th September, at 3:30 PM. Meanwhile, Albstadt, the long-standing Verbandsligist, currently have a meagre six points, and will be looking to bounce back under the guidance of their new coach, Markus Renz, who will take charge of their next match against VfL Nagold.
