Punking a Journalist: Thug from Notorious Clan Nabs a Jail Sentence

A rowdy vague folklore character has copped a ten-month jail stint in Big D after smacking a journalist square in the kisser in Germany's bustling Berlin courthouse. The Berlin Tiergarten Local Courthouse found the 42-year-old guilty as sin for inflicting bodily harm deliberately. The repeat lowlife criminal was not eligible for a suspended sentence. The punk didn't care for the journalist's coverage. "Ultimately, it was an assault on media's freedom," spat presiding judge Andrea Wilms.

The 42-year-old allegedly decked a report from "Spiegel TV" on the side of a court hearing concerning his uncle's deportation order challenge. The 63-year-old reporter received quite a lick with a hematoma on his left peeper, headaches, and a nearly stamped brain. "Spiegel" published the attack's account, with the editorial office declaring they chose not to press charges in December. The whiskered newshound pursued charges against his attacker.

The prosecutor: "The law ain't deaf to this"

The punk fessed up to the attack. He and his kin wanted some private time. When he turned around and spotted the reporter, he "jumped the gun" and whacked him across the dial. He apologized, expressing regrets.

The sentence was a wrap after the verdict from the pissed-off prosecutor. The prosecutor hollered that it was an attack on a working journalist. The punk aimed to bury the story, and his motivation was completely wrong. "We gotta send a message that the law is sensitive to this sort of bullshit," he growled.

Time to appeal

The defense lawyer wasn't forthcoming with any specific requests. His client messed up and pleaded for leniency, he said. The 42-year-old promised to appeal the judgment.

Applying the term "clan crime" is iffy. Critics claim it unfairly labels people with a migration history based solely on family ties and origin.

  • In response to the street fight and deliberate infliction of bodily harm, the 42-year-old, from the notorious clan, was given a jail sentence of ten months in the Berlin Tiergarten Local Court.
  • This incident, classified as a misdemeanor, sparked a discussion on the connection between family ties and origin, as some critics argue labeling it as a "clan crime" may be an unfair generalization.
