In the heart of Sochi's Central District, work has commenced on a significant capital repair project for the swimming pool at Sports School No.2, located on Young Lenin Street. The pool, built in 1972, has been closed since 2021 due to structural wear, and it requires substantial reinforcement of its supporting structures, replacement of outdated pump equipment, and pool lining.

Recently, Sochi Mayor Andrey Proshunin visited the facility as part of a working tour of the Central District. The visit was accompanied by specialists in the field and a bronze Olympic medalist in swimming, Vladimir Nemshilov.

The swimming pool at Sports School No.2 plays a vital role in the community, with more than 880 young Sochi residents training in its swimming department. Currently, all classes are being held in a covered pool on Pyarko Street.

The capital repair project plans to exit state expertise in the first half of next year. Once completed, the pool will offer opportunities for Central District children to learn to swim, engage in sports, and achieve their first sports results near their homes.

While specific details about the renovation timeline, cost, and expected reopening date are not currently available, it is known that approximately 7.4 million rubles will be allocated for document revision related to the pool's capital repair project.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it is recommended to check Sochi municipal releases, local sports authority announcements, or contact the sports school directly. Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting renovation project!
