City theater resumes operations post-summer recess

The City Theatre is gearing up for an exciting new season, with the production of two premieres and a host of free events starting from 3 September.

The second premiere of the season, set to take place in the Small House, is being produced by City Theatre Intendant Simone Sterr. This world premiere promises to be a unique theatrical experience.

The new season officially begins on Wednesday, 3 September, with an opening event - a preview concert for the 1st Symphony Concert. Conducted by Andreas Schüller, the concert will feature works by Jean-Baptiste Lully, Richard Strauss, and Amy Beach.

From Friday, 5 September, the Summer Stage on the theatre square will offer special theatre experiences under the open sky. On Saturday, 6 September, the Summer Stage events include Bulgarian songs, an opera choir performance, an Open Mic event, and a family festival from 3 pm to 6 pm. The family festival will be opened by a performance from a children's and youth choir at 1 pm.

Attendees can come and go as they please, as admission to all Summer Stage events is free.

The first premiere in the Great House for the new season is on Saturday, 13 September in a production by Anaïs Durand-Mauptit. Unfortunately, the specific title of the premiere is not yet known.

For those interested in subscribing to multiple performances, attractive subscription discounts are available for many more offers.

On Sunday, 7 September at 7:30 pm, "New Tracks 25/26: The Season Show" will present highlights from the upcoming season on the Summer Stage.

The Card House, which has recently reopened for business, is open Mondays to Fridays from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM and on Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM. On-site staff at the theatre are available to provide advice and assist with ticket purchases. Information and tickets can be found at the theatre's website.

The second premiere of the new season is on Saturday, 20 September. More details about this production will be announced in due course.
