City Music Performance by Buddenbrooks: Literary Concert Happening September 27 at Church Zum Heilsbrunnen
On Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 7:00 PM, Sibylle Bertsch and Cosmin Boeru will be presenting a unique literary concert at the Evangelical Church Zum Heilsbrunnen in the Hebborn district. This event is part of the "Sounds of the City" series, a collaboration between "Literaturkonzert Köln" and "Wir für Bergisch Gladbach e.V.".
Sibylle Bertsch, an actress trained at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart, and Cosmin Boeru, a pianist born in Craiova, Romania, have joined forces to create an engaging adaptation of Thomas Mann's Nobel Prize-winning work, "The Buddenbrooks." The concert, titled "Music with the Buddenbrooks", will explore the significant role music plays in the novel, causing heated discussions, enthusiasm, and turmoil within the Buddenbrook family.
Ingrid Schaeffer-Rahtgens and Ingrid Koshofer, event organizers, have previously presented three successful events with Sibylle Bertsch and Cosmin Boeru. Their collaborations have been notable in Bergisch Gladbach, including the event "Sounds of the City". All concerts by Cosmin Boeru in this series have been great successes.
Cosmin Boeru, who graduated with distinction from the Conservatorio B. Marcello in Venice and teaches at the renowned Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne, has won numerous awards and is known for his openness, curiosity, and love for new paths, making him a sought-after chamber music partner and soloist throughout Europe.
Sibylle Bertsch's repertoire includes classical roles, comedies, and musicals. She founded "Literaturkonzert Köln" in 2008, a platform where music and literature intersect to tell stories on multiple levels.
Registration for the concert can be done online at www.wir-fuer-gl.de or by phone at 02204 483909 or 02202 982444. Admission to the concert is free, with donations welcome. We invite you to join us for an evening of music, literature, and the timeless story of "The Buddenbrooks."
