City-Issued Payment Card
In a significant move, the Lousã City Council has approved the introduction of a new public service tool, the Municipal Card. The decision was made during the council's meeting held on Monday, 5th May. This initiative aims to streamline interactions between residents and municipal services, functioning as both a facilitator and a benefit provider.
The Municipal Card is envisioned as a dynamic, regularly updated tool designed to boost the accessibility and efficiency of municipal facilities and services. It offers local residents a range of discounts and benefits when accessing local infrastructure, public spaces, and other community resources.
The primary objective of the Municipal Card is to strengthen communication and operational efficiency between the city council and local residents. It will also support the local economy by offering cardholders substantial discounts on goods and services provided by businesses in the area.
Community participation is encouraged in shaping the regulations for the Municipal Card. Residents and stakeholders can submit their suggestions and feedback during the consultation period, which lasts 10 working days from the publication of the draft regulation on the official municipal website. Submissions can be made during business hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.) either in person at the municipality’s citizen service desk or via email, addressed to the Mayor of Lousã.
This approach ensures transparency in governance and involves the community in decision-making about the Municipal Card's operation and benefits for the people of Lousã.
The Municipal Card's operation and benefits for the people of Lousã will be influenced by community participation, with a 10-day consultation period for residents and stakeholders to submit their suggestions or feedback on the policy-and-legislation related to the card. Local businesses in the area can anticipate increased foot traffic due to the policy, as the card offers substantial discounts on their goods and services, enhancing the local economy as part of the business sector.
