City Council Employee in Nikolaevskaya region accused of spying for "Lohmatogo" organization

A 57-year-old woman from the Mykolaiv region has been taken into custody by the Security Service of Ukraine's counterintelligence on spying charges. According to reports, she was working as an employee, though the specific department or organization is unclear.

The SSU alleges that the woman was a traitor, attempting to pinpoint "new" locations of Ukrainian military units. These units were strategically relocated after the start of the full-scale war. The traitor is said to have recorded the routes, numbers, and types of combat equipment moving towards the frontline.

Intriguingly, she seemingly transferred the collected information to a pro-Russian blogger, Sergey Lebedev (alias "Shaggy"), who is currently residing in the temporarily occupied Donetsk. The enemy administer then forwarded the information to handlers in two Russian special services – the FSB and the military intelligence of the aggressor country, according to the SBU.

During the investigation, mobile phones and computer equipment with evidence of subversive activity in the interests of the Kremlin were seized from the suspect. At present, she is held in custody, facing up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The SSU's counterintelligence division arrested the woman during a meeting with her superiors and colleagues, according to their statement. Additionally, this case is a part of their broader counter-espionage efforts, focusing on alleged collaborators in frontline regions. Unfortunately, no further operational details about her methods or specific military consequences have been made public as of now.

[1] It appears that the woman allegedly passed confidential information about Ukrainian military positions to Russian forces, though further investigation is required to fully understand the extent and impact of her actions.
