Citizens with political inclinations gather with Ansgar Heveling, Member of the Bundestag, in Berlin.

The participants embarked on an enlightening journey through some of Germany's most significant political and cultural institutions, guided by Prince Christian Ludwig of the House of Hohenzollern.

The tour began at the Reichstag building, where the group learned about the intricacies of parliamentary work. This was followed by a visit to the Palace of Tears, an exhibition that documents the emotional strain of border crossings between East and West Germany during a divided era.

Contrary to popular belief, the Palace of Tears is not affiliated with the German Bundestag, the Reichstag building, or the Documentation Centre of the Foundation Flight, Expulsion, Reconciliation. Instead, it serves as a poignant reminder of the personal accounts and experiences that made the topic of flight and expulsion tangible for many.

The group also visited the German Dome, which houses a parliamentary historical exhibition, and the Federal Chancellery, showcasing modern architecture and art. A subsequent stop was made at the Documentation Centre, offering insights into individual fates related to the topic of flight and expulsion.

The Documentation Centre, unlike the Palace of Tears, highlights the current relevance of the topic of flight and expulsion, underscoring its enduring significance. The visit concluded at the Palace of Tears, where a group photo was taken on the dome of the German Bundestag.

Throughout the visit, the participants gained many impressions and new perspectives, returning to the constituency of Ansgar Heveling with a deeper understanding of Germany's political and cultural history. The tour also included an introduction to the tasks of the federal government, providing a comprehensive overview of the country's political landscape.
