Title: Thai Government Steps Up to Secure Citizens Amidst Intense Israel-Iran Conflict

Heed the words of Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa—If you're a Thai resident in Iran or Israel, it's smart to pack your bags and seek a secure haven. The ongoing Israel-Iran war isn't showing any signs of stopping, and tensions are skyrocketing, putting lives and properties at risk.

"Stay alert! The situation seems to be spiraling out of control, and we can't afford to take any chances," said Mr. Maris bluntly.

He strongly urged Thai citizens in both nations to vamoose their local areas when things calm down a bit. It's common knowledge that China and the United States advised their citizens to depart their local areas on Tuesday night.

The Thai embassy in Tehran took prompt action, setting up a stadium-like shelter in Amol city, situated in northern Iran, on Monday. This location is safe and keeps a good distance from Iran's military and nuclear facilities. The shelter can house up to 200 people, and currently, 35 Thais are already there.

If things turn south, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hurriedly announce an evacuation order, assured Mr. Maris.

Earlier, the Thai embassy in Teheran had warned Thai residents to vacate the Iranian capital without delay for their safety.

In response to queries about the Israel-Iran war, the deputy government spokeswoman, Sasikarn Watanachan, stated that Thailand has an oil reserve that can last approximately 60 days. If the situation worsens, the government will fill up these reserves to ensure a stable supply.

The Thai government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safety of its citizens. The Royal Thai Air Force has its planes on standby, fully loaded for any last-minute evacuation missions to Iran and Israel. The Thai government has established a central support and coordination center to manage evacuation logistics, with all relevant agencies aligned and ready to act as the crisis deepens.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Labour, and associated forces have drawn up intricate contingency plans. In Israel, the Ministry of Labour is partnering with employers to prepare shelters for Thai workers. The Ministry of Labour is also temporarily halting the deployment of new Thai workers to the conflict zone. All Thai nationals in the area have been advised to stay on high alert, shun large gatherings, and act promptly on embassy directives.

Minister Maris emphasized the significance of consistent monitoring and timely evaluation, encouraging Thai citizens in conflict zones and neighboring regions to stay informed via official channels and the Thai Consular mobile app. The embassy in Tehran offers residents a hotline number (+989 1215 98699) for immediate assistance. Similarly, the embassy in Israel advises Thais to take cover in bomb shelters or safe buildings when alarms sound and to stock emergency essentials such as water, food, first-aid kits, and power banks.

Overall, the Thai government is leaving a strong footprint in supporting its citizens in Iran through temporary shelter provisions, steady communication, and readiness to evacuate if necessary. Such efforts demonstrate a steadfast commitment to safeguarding Thai citizens amidst the conflict.

"The Thai embassy in Teheran is not only offering temporary shelter for Thai residents in Amol city, but it's also urging them to stay updated with general news and politics, due to the escalating war-and-conflicts between Israel and Iran."

"With the ongoing war-and-conflicts between Israel and Iran and tensions rising, it's essential for Thai citizens in both nations to follow the advice of the Thai government, which includes staying informed through official channels and the Thai Consular mobile app and heeding any evacuation orders that may be issued."
