Citizens in Neukirchen-Vluyn continue to prioritize safety concerns
The CDU in Neukirchen-Vluyn has released the findings of a recent citizen survey, shedding light on the top priorities of the town's residents. A total of 118 people participated in the survey, according to party statements.
The survey results reveal that the residents of Neukirchen-Vluyn prioritise the following areas:
- Traffic and parking improvements
- Enhancement of local safety
- Better education opportunities
- More support for families and seniors
- Environmental protection and beautification of the town
In response, the CDU plans to incorporate these findings into their election program. The party intends to focus on concrete measures that directly address these concerns, including:
- Developing targeted traffic safety projects and expanding parking facilities to ease congestion.
- Collaborating with police and community organizations to enhance public safety.
- Investing in schools and educational infrastructure to provide higher-quality learning environments.

CDU city association chairman, Albert Mallmann, stated that the survey indicates what is important to the people. He thanks participants for their involvement in the survey and considers the feedback as influencing the content orientation of the party.
The survey focused on the topics of security, education, and traffic. Interestingly, security received the highest score of 532 points, surprising the CDU. People expressed a desire for clear rules, stronger law enforcement presence, and consistent regulation implementation in the security category.
Other areas that received significant attention include Education & Schools (488 points), Mobility & Traffic (486 points), Environment & Climate Protection (409 points), and Volunteering & Clubs (402 points). Economy & Trade received 490 points. No personal data was collected from the survey participants.
The CDU sees these areas (strong businesses, well-equipped educational institutions, reliable public transport, ecological responsibility, support for volunteering) as forming a content cluster for a functioning city. The survey results are expected to guide future political work, according to party statements.
