In the spring of 1944, Rosa Schlott's life took an unexpected turn. She was taken by the SS to serve as a food taster for Adolf Hitler, a role that would test her courage and resilience.

Rosa, a German woman, had moved to Groß-Partsch in the fall of 1943. Her new home was situated near Hitler's Wolfsschanze headquarters, a place shrouded in secrecy and fear.

Her duties as a food taster were crucial. She was responsible for tasting the food that Hitler would be served, ensuring it was not poisoned. This task was not taken lightly, as the women assigned to this role were closely guarded after each tasting.

Despite the tense atmosphere, a special bond developed between Rosa and the new commander, Albert Ziegler. However, information about Ziegler remains scarce. Despite extensive searches, no specific details about his identity or role at that location and time could be found.

Rosa's life during this period was far from ordinary. She stayed with her husband Gregor's parents while he fought at the front, forming friendships with other food tasters in the process.

Tickets for the events where Hitler dined were only available at the box office on the day of the event, adding another layer of secrecy to these gatherings. The admission price, surprisingly, was the same for all seats, suggesting that even in the midst of war, equality was upheld, if only in the smallest of ways.

Through her story, we are reminded of the extraordinary circumstances that ordinary people found themselves in during wartime. Rosa's courage and resilience serve as a testament to the human spirit, even in the face of adversity.
