The Cinema for Peace Gala in Berlin honoured films and individuals dedicated to peace, justice, and environmental causes. This year's event recognised two powerful documentaries about the Gaza war, alongside speeches from prominent figures like Hillary Clinton and Bob Geldof.

The gala awarded The Voice of Hind Rajab as the 'Most Valuable Film'. The documentary had already earned a Silver Lion at the 2025 Venice Film Festival and an Oscar nomination. It was screened at Berlin's Yorck Kinos and featured in the 2026 Berlin Festival programme.

Roman, a Ukrainian boy from Children in Fire, delivered an emotional speech about war's toll on children. His words visibly moved Hillary Clinton, who called the conflict's impact on young lives 'madness' and urged immediate action to stop the fighting.

Former Israeli General Noam Tibon, central to The Road Between Us, was also honoured. The film was one of two Gaza-focused works recognised at the event. Meanwhile, former South African Justice Albie Sachs received an award for his lifelong fight against apartheid.

Bob Geldof used the stage to criticise Donald Trump, calling him a 'damn idiot' for dismissing climate change as a hoax. The gala's guest list included Clinton, actor Kevin Spacey, and other high-profile attendees.

The Cinema for Peace Foundation continues to highlight urgent global issues through film and advocacy. This year's awards brought renewed attention to the Gaza conflict, climate action, and the lasting effects of war on children.
