In an unexpected twist of events, a young resident named Emily found herself in possession of a peculiar pen. One day, Emily realised that the pen was missing from her belongings. Upon lifting up her book, she discovered that it had been taken by her fellow resident, Rose. In a fit of frustration, Emily stamped her foot and squeezed her eyes shut, before being led away by Mrs Bowler.
Emily, determined to retrieve her newfound treasure, pulled the pen out of her pocket and examined it carefully. She turned it round and round in her hands, tipping it up and down, mesmerised by the tiny goldfish swimming inside.
Rose, seizing an opportunity, took the pen when Mrs Bowler came over to speak to Emily. However, Emily wasn't about to let it go that easily. She pointed towards the window to distract Rose, and seized custody of the pen from her bag.
The pen lay on the table between Emily and Rose, but it didn't belong to either of them. Emily giggled at the sight of the tiny goldfish swimming happily along, and even declared it the most beautiful thing she'd ever seen.
In a moment of anger, Emily accused Rose of taking something that wasn't hers, and the two exchanged harsh words. Rose, however, hid the pen up her sleeve and carried on reading, as though nothing had happened.
