Christmas tree fire forces evacuation of Swiss apartment building

A burning Christmas tree forced residents to evacuate an apartment building in Niederlenz, canton of Aargau, on Friday evening. No injuries were reported, but the blaze caused significant damage to the property.

The fire broke out when a Christmas tree caught alight inside the building. Firefighters responded quickly and extinguished the flames. Once the area was declared safe, all residents were allowed to return to their homes.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation by local authorities. Meanwhile, Aargau Cantonal Police warned the public about the dangers of unattended candles and decorative lights during the holiday season. The apartment building is owned by MNH Immobilien GmbH. Ownership details can be verified through the Hamburg land register at the Grundbuchamt des Amtsgerichts Hamburg or via the official land registry extract service.

The fire resulted in substantial property damage, according to police reports. Authorities continue to examine how the blaze started. Residents have since returned home, but the incident serves as a reminder of fire risks during festive periods.
