The Christmas season in Düsseldorf has been brought to life with the premiere of a spectacular circus, held on Staufenplatz on 12.12. This year's edition, presented by directors Thomas Merz and Stefan Ballak, features artists from 22 nations, promising a diverse and captivating show.

The large round tent, the largest in Europe, offers improved seating comfort, better visibility, and more legroom, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all. The show, which lasted more than two hours, was a thrilling blend of acrobatic feats, dreamy-melancholic acts, and funny clown acts.

One of the highlights of the night was the Duo Fosset's performance on the aerial cradle, leaving the audience in awe with their grace and agility. The Duo Garcia, hailing from England, presented breathtaking acrobatics, including a daring act with a rocket. Viktor Gorodetsky entertained the crowd with his humorous unicycle show, while Huan Vargas, a Hungarian juggler, displayed his impressive skills, trained for four to six hours every day.

The live orchestra, which accompanied the performance, added an extra layer of magic to the show, making its premiere alongside the Christmas circus. Firefighter Alex was also part of the Christmas circus, adding a touch of real-life heroism to the fantasy.

Patrick Rosseel, the French director who put together the programme for the Christmas circus, is known for his work in the international circus world. He has compiled a series of 13 top acts that will run until 5 January. Among these acts are Maxim and Nikolay, who performed hand-to-hand acrobatics, Kaya Janecek, a master of Rola Rola, and the LS Brothers, who captivated with their diabolo show.

Nicole and Poroto offered various clowning acts, bringing laughter and joy to the audience, while Gael Ramirez was another featured artist. Mr. and Mrs. Mauska and Engstfeld were also in attendance at the Christmas circus premiere.

In addition to the main show, a small Christmas market was available in the foyer tent, offering festive treats and gifts. A carousel was set up for children, ensuring that the youngest members of the audience had a fun-filled evening.
