Christmas Orangetastic Brownies
Serves 9
- 1/2 cup (150g) butter
- 1 1/2 cups (350g) dark chocolate
- 4 tbsp orange marmalade
- 4 tbsp malt extract
- 4 tbsp molasses
- 1/2 cup (100ml) honey
- 1/2 cup (100ml) golden syrup
- 1 cup (150g) brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup (125g) flour
Optional Extras:
- 1 orange for garnish
- 1/2 cup (100g) unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup (50g) raw almonds
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 160C.
- Slice the orange thinly and then halve the slices. Melt 100g of the butter in a pan, then add the orange slices and almonds. Cook for 5-8 minutes, then drain off any excess liquid on absorbent paper.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter, dark chocolate, orange marmalade, malt extract, molasses, honey, golden syrup, and brown sugar over a low heat until smooth. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 10-15 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, stirring well after each addition. Add the flour and mix thoroughly.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and top with the drained orange and almond slices.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool.
- Serve warm.
