Christian Ulmen sues Der Spiegel over ex-wife's stalking and fake profile claims
Actor Christian Ulmen has launched legal action against Der Spiegel magazine over allegations made by his ex-wife, Collien Fernandes. The dispute centres on claims of stalking and the creation of fake social media profiles, which Ulmen strongly denies.
The case has drawn widespread attention since Der Spiegel first published Fernandes' accusations in March 2026, sparking public debate and renewed investigations by German prosecutors. Der Spiegel broke the story in March 2026, reporting that Fernandes had accused Ulmen of creating fake online profiles in her name to contact men with erotic content. She also filed a complaint in Spain at the end of 2025, alleging the production and distribution of fake pornographic recordings.
German prosecutors in Itzehoe initially dismissed the claims but later reopened the investigation. Meanwhile, public figures—including politicians, activists, and celebrities like Kevin Kühnert, Luisa Neubauer, and Pheline Roggan—have openly supported Fernandes, praising her for speaking out.
Ulmen's legal team has called the allegations "untrue" and filed for an interim injunction against Der Spiegel on Tuesday. The Hamburg Regional Court has since given the magazine a deadline to respond. However, a decision on the injunction is not expected in the coming days.
The case continues to unfold as prosecutors examine the stalking claims, while Ulmen maintains his innocence under the legal principle of presumption. The legal battle between Ulmen and Der Spiegel remains unresolved, with the court awaiting the magazine's response. Prosecutors in Itzehoe are still investigating the stalking allegations, while Fernandes' complaint in Spain adds another layer to the ongoing proceedings.
The outcome will depend on further evidence and judicial review, with no immediate ruling expected on the interim injunction.
