Chris Jericho trades wrestling ring for Hollywood's spotlight with bold new roles
Chris Jericho has been expanding his career beyond wrestling and music into acting. Recently, he made an unexpected appearance in the Minnesota Vikings’ schedule release video. The star now says he feels growing momentum in his acting work, much like his past successes in other fields.
His family’s love for the Vikings played a part in the collaboration. Wife Jessica and son Ash are long-time fans of the team, adding a personal touch to the project. Jericho initially thought he would record a simple voice-over for the Vikings’ video. Instead, he found himself playing a waiter in a chaotic 17-course meal scene. The clip also featured Vikings players Justin Jefferson and Will Reichard, with Jefferson jokingly demanding more food while Reichard ordered dishes representing each opponent for the upcoming season.
Since returning to AEW in April, Jericho has actively pursued more acting roles. He has already secured parts in CBS’s Tracker, Apple TV’s Margo’s Got Money Troubles, and the upcoming Dexter: Resurrection. Additionally, he hinted at an unannounced role in a major Amazon production, suggesting even bigger opportunities ahead.
The wrestler-turned-actor has made no secret of his ambition to grow in Hollywood. His recent projects and the Vikings’ video highlight his willingness to take on varied and sometimes surprising roles. Jericho’s appearance in the Vikings’ video comes as he builds a stronger presence in acting. His upcoming roles in television and a potential Amazon series show a clear shift in focus. With family ties to the team and a growing portfolio, his career now spans wrestling, music, and increasingly, the screen.
