Choose France Tour 2025 Attracts 700 Students, Showcases Academic Excellence

The French Consulate in Mumbai recently hosted the Choose France Tour 2025, attracting over 700 students and parents. The event showcased France's academic excellence and highlighted opportunities for Indian students. Dr Philippe Maurin, Scientific and Higher Education Attaché, and French Ambassador Thierry Mathou shared insights into France's commitment to welcoming Indian students.

The tour featured representatives from over 50 French universities and institutions. They offered guidance on popular courses, scholarships, visa procedures, and student life. Indian students showed keen interest in master's degrees, with over 1,600 programs taught entirely in English.

Campus France, the French agency for the promotion of higher education, offers free academic counselling and support. The International Classes Initiative of the French government for the academic year 2026 targets Indian 12th-grade students aiming to study in France. This initiative involves partnerships between the French Ministry of Education and French higher education institutions specializing in French-language programs.

Indian student enrollments in French institutions rose by 17 percent in the 2024-25 academic year. Indian students who complete a master's degree in France are eligible for a two-year post-study visa.

Ambassador Mathou emphasized France's commitment to welcoming 30,000 Indian students by 2030. The French government is expanding undergraduate opportunities through the International Classes initiative. With its academic excellence, diverse course offerings, and supportive environment, France continues to be an attractive destination for Indian students.
