Chocobos from the Final Fantasy series will be making an appearance in Monster Hunter Wilds.

The gaming world is abuzz with excitement as Square Enix and Capcom have announced a highly anticipated collaboration between Final Fantasy 14 and Monster Hunter Wilds. This crossover event is set to launch in late September 2025 for Monster Hunter Wilds, with the Final Fantasy 14 collaboration following in early October 2025.

What to Expect

In Final Fantasy 14, players can look forward to the Guardian Arkveld event, a crossover experience filled with Monster Hunter-themed content. On the other hand, Monster Hunter Wilds will introduce a Final Fantasy-themed questline, featuring iconic elements such as Chocobos and a boss fight against Omega Planetes - a unique adaptation of the Omega monster specifically designed for Monster Hunter Wilds.

The Omega Planetes fight has been designed to cater to both casual and hardcore players, offering challenge flexibility. The collaboration's story on the Monster Hunter side involves characters Alpha and Omega joining hunters to battle Omega Planetes, with narrative integration supervised by the Final Fantasy 14 development team.

Additional Details

This collaboration is not a surprise, as the teams have worked together before on a Monster Hunter Worlds crossover. It's also worth noting that a Cactuar was spotted in the background of the Monster Hunter Wilds collaboration reveal.

The collaboration will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam) for Monster Hunter Wilds, with Final Fantasy 14's content accessible on its existing platforms.

Upcoming Updates

The Fender special collaboration is currently underway, running from August 27 to September 24 of the current year. After the Fender collaboration ends, Title Update 3, along with the Final Fantasy content, is expected to release. New monsters, NPCs including a Palico, and other features will be introduced in the October collaboration.

In winter 2025, Title Update 4 is anticipated to arrive, bringing a new monster, expanded end-game content, and various other improvements.
