Chloe Dygert is readying herself for the World Championships while simultaneously learning and working hard to improve, all in a bid to support Marianne Vos-Phinney at the Tour de France Femmes.

In the 2022 Tour de France Femmes, Chloe Dygert took on the role of a domestique for defending champion Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney. This strategic move allowed Dygert to support her team's overall goal of keeping Niewiadoma-Phinney safe and competitive.

As a versatile cyclist known for her time-trialling strength, Dygert's skills as a domestique proved invaluable. She trained extensively to prepare for the 2022 UCI Road World Championships in Rwanda, focusing on endurance and teamwork to contribute effectively in both roles.

During the Tour de France Femmes, Dygert's duties varied, from pacing and protection from the wind to positioning for Niewiadoma-Phinney. In the sprint finish of Poitiers, Soraya Paladin led Dygert out. However, halfway through the stage, Dygert had to change the plan and switch to recovery mode for the sprint.

Despite the unexpected turn of events, Dygert finished fifth in stage 4 of the Tour de France Femmes. She admitted that she should have stayed on the barriers to close off the sprint to the other competitors. Nevertheless, she used this experience as a learning opportunity.

The UCI Road World Championships in Rwanda in September is a significant goal for Dygert. She will continue to prepare, focusing on maintaining peak physical condition and honing her tactical acumen to support her team amidst strong international competition.

Throughout the Tour de France Femmes, Dygert performed numerous team tasks at the beginning of each stage. Initially, she was not supposed to go for a result, but she took over after Aga Skalniak-Sójka was not feeling well. Regardless, her main focus remained on supporting Niewiadoma-Phinney and ensuring the team's success.

Dygert's dedication and adaptability are evident in her performance during the Tour de France Femmes. As she prepares for the World Championships, she continues to embody the spirit of a true team player, putting the success of her team and leader above her individual ambitions.

Road cycling is a sports discipline where Dygert, known for her versatility, has proven her worth as a domestique. In the 2022 UCI Road World Championships, she plans to capitalize on her training in endurance and teamwork, aiming to excel not only in her individual roles but also in supporting her teammates in sports competition.
