China's latest attraction, Universal Beijing Resort, has finally opened its doors this month, boasting seven themed areas filled with exhilarating rides. After several pandemic-related delays, the park officially launched on September 20th.

This Universal Studios theme park, which will be the fifth of its kind, features over 37 thrilling rides and attractions. Some popular attractions from other Universal Studios locations, such as those in Singapore, Osaka, Los Angeles, and Orlando, will also be present. However, Universal Beijing Resort also boasts several unique offerings, including Kung Fu Panda Land.

CNN report reveals that during a pre-opening soft launch, visitors reported long wait times and popular shows filling up quickly. Some of the most popular attractions include the Transformers' Decepticons, all Harry Potter-themed rides, "Jurassic World Adventure," and the "Minion Simulator."

Long wait times for the most popular attractions were reported, with many exceeding one hour during peak times, despite capacity limits and a stress-test phase during the pre-opening soft launch. The park's press release states that select attractions, shows, and dining options will be experienced by invited guests to collect feedback and make necessary adjustments before the grand opening.

Kung Fu Panda Land, the world's first, is set to become a highlight for visitors seeking something new. Constructed at an estimated cost of 50 billion Yuan (7.7 billion USD), the new land will feature numerous attractions, food and beverage offerings that celebrate Chinese culture.

Included among the offerings are the Awa Kung Fu Training Camp, the Kung Fu Heroes Carousel, and the Kung Fu Panda Dragon Rider, plus a Mr. Ping Noodle House eatery based on the franchise. Harry Potter fans can experience "Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey" and the "Flight of the Hippogriff" in the enchanting castle of Hogwarts.

Additionally, the Transformers Metropolis Base and Minion Land offer attractions intended for kids, while the Jurassic World Nubal Island features more family-friendly thrills.

Adventurous guests should prioritize WaterWorld and Hollywoodland to witness Universal Studios' famous live shows, like "WaterWorld" and "Fantastic World of Dreams," or risk missing out on limited seating. The entire resort has implemented COVID-19 safety measures, such as temperature checks and mandatory mask wearing.

Two hotels, Universal Studios Hotel and Nuojin Resort Hotel, will be available for travelers. The Universal CityWalk, featuring various dining and shopping options, is also nearby and does not require admission tickets.

Universal Beijing Resort is overseen by Beijing International Resort Co., Ltd., a joint venture between the Beijing Shouhuan Cultural Tourism Investment Co., Ltd. and Universal Parks and Resorts from Comcast NBCUniversal. The park is easily accessible by car from the center of Beijing and now has a dedicated subway station.

The most-visited attractions in Kung Fu Panda Land at Universal Beijing Resort include:

  1. The Journey of the Dragon Warrior: This guided, relaxing experience provides an opportunity to observe and enjoy the displays, but may still be enjoyable for families and Kung Fu Panda franchise fans.

However, it's important to note that the longest wait times were primarily observed for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and The Transformers Metrobase attractions like "Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey" and "Decepticoaster," with reported wait times of up to 120 minutes and 150 minutes, respectively.

To minimize wait times in Kung Fu Panda Land, it's recommended to visit during less crowded times, such as weekdays following the start of school.
