Chilling Vessel 'Eye of the East' Exposed as Slave Ship
The Eye of the East, a chilling vessel, has been revealed to be a slave ship with a sinister purpose. Equipped with a modified Scorpion Ship battlemap, it carries a dark cargo and dangerous crew.
The ship's captain, Morsul, is a formidable minotaur vampire. He boasts impressive strength and possesses traits like Charge, Labyrinthine Recall, Reckless, and Multiattack. His Gore attack deals a devastating 13 (2d8+4) piercing damage. The ship's armament includes ballistas, each loaded with 6 bolts tipped with alchemist's fire, causing 3d10 piercing damage and 1d10 fire damage per turn.
The cargo hatches can be concealed with a shutter, providing a hiding place for slaves and protecting vampires from sunlight. The ship's layout includes a secure compartment (Area 5) for high-value cargo, housing the ship's anchor and Makena, the Vladaam Mage, who keeps a spellbook, a potion of superior healing, and a djinni's lamp. Area 4 serves as storage for supplies and additional hammocks for the crew. The door to Area 5 is heavily fortified with a steel core, offering AC 19 and 40 hp of protection.
The ship harbors 1d4+1 vampire spawn, created from enslaved humans and mutinous crew members. Among them is Hadiya, a djinni imprisoned in the lamp, yearning for freedom. Despite searches, no historical records of the Elven Tower Company's involvement in this slave trade were found.
The Eye of the East, with its dark purpose and dangerous crew, serves as a stark reminder of the horrors of slavery. The imprisonment of Hadiya, the djinni, adds another layer of cruelty to this grim tale. The lack of historical records about the Elven Tower Company's involvement suggests this may be a fictional account, but the reality of slavery in history serves as a chilling echo.
