Children's Fire Brigade Experience Day takes place in the Wesel district of Dinslaken
Last Sunday, the picturesque town of Dinslaken hosted a unique event, the Children's Fire Experience Day. The event, held outdoors due to the pleasant weather, saw the participation of several local fire departments, including Xanten, Kamp-Lintfort, Neukirchen-Vluyn, Hamminkeln, and, of course, Dinslaken.
The day began with a warm welcome from Heike Borgmann, the leader of Dinslaken's children's fire department. The children, aged between 6 and the transition to the youth fire department (10-12 years), were then divided into groups and taken through a series of stations designed to test their firefighting skills and knowledge.
The stations included a memory game, precise use of hoses, navigating the breathing apparatus course, and safely using wood saws. These activities aimed to provide the children with a hands-on experience of what it takes to be a firefighter.
The event was supported by the youth fire department, deployment forces of the fire department Dinslaken, children's fire department supervisors, the THW with the THW youth Dinslaken. The leaders of the children's fire brigades who participated in the first Children's Fire Brigade Experience Day in the Wesel district in Dinslaken were not publicly specified. However, district fire chief Udo Zurmuhlen, Markus Janßen, and Ulrich Borgmann were in attendance.
After a day filled with excitement and learning, everyone had the opportunity to relax and go home satisfied. A buffet was prepared, including grilled food, homemade salads, and bread, to ensure that everyone had enough energy to participate fully.
