Thousands Gather in Birmingham for Ozzy Osbourne's Public Funeral Procession

A poignant and emotional scene unfolded in Birmingham on a recent day, as the city paid its respects to the late Ozzy Osbourne, affectionately known as the "Prince of Darkness." The public funeral procession was led by the brass band "Bostin' Brass," drawing a crowd of thousands who lined the streets to honour the music legend.

Among the mourners were Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy's wife, who was accompanied by their children Jack (39), Kelly (40), and Aimee (41), and Ozzy's son Louis (50) from his first marriage. The family was visibly emotional as they paid tribute to their late father, with Jack and Kelly showing their support for each other throughout the procession.

The hearse, adorned with bright lilac flowers displaying the deceased's name, passed by significant landmarks and even Ozzy's childhood home, as the family actively participated in honoring him. Kelly leaned on her fiancé, Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson (48), who stood nearby with their son Sidney (1).

During the procession, Sharon Osbourne bravely waved to the emotionally charged crowd and flashed peace signs, while fans held handmade banners, "Prince of Darkness" balloons, and proudly displayed their Ozzy tattoos. The crowd could be heard chanting "Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy" and a heartfelt "We love you, Sharon" was heard as she placed flowers beside the procession.

The public farewell concluded with a private family service at a church in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, where Ozzy Osbourne will be buried on Thursday. Notable attendees at the private service are expected to include Metallica frontman James Hetfield (61), Elton John (78), and the surviving members of Black Sabbath. Yungblud (27) has been announced to deliver a eulogy at the service.

Ozzy Osbourne passed away in 2025, leaving behind a legacy that continues to resonate with fans around the world. His public funeral procession in Birmingham served as a poignant reminder of the impact he had on music and the lives of those who loved him.
