Children initiate the 72nd City Parks Council Competition in Dusseldorf, with nearly 400 participants joining in.

The 72nd edition of the Duesseldorf Bicycle Wheelie Tournament took place on Sunday, June 29th, at the lower Rhine embankment, attracting nearly 400 participants from twelve different nations. The event, organized by the "Alde Düsseldorfer" civic society, showcased the skills of young riders in both style and speed.

In the Boys A (8-10 years) category, Kazuma Ohashi, Sho Takahashi, and Shoma Nagamura emerged as the winners. The Boys B (11-12 years) category saw victories by Isshin Koga and Norito Sugarawa, although the latter's competitor in this category remains unspecified. The Girls A (8-10 years) category was won by Amelie Berlin, Emilia Feder, and Valentina Giraldo Aguado, while the Girls B (11-12 years) was won by Nene Yokoi, Ella Multrack, and Dana Heinke.

The style competition was a crucial part of the tournament, requiring participants to execute their wheelies smoothly without intermediate steps on a straight line. Those who excelled in this category included Grace Edwards, Anita Ikebonur, and Anisa Dashlani.

The winners received trophies, medals, and an invitation to the town hall in September. The event also fostered integration, with children from various backgrounds coming together to compete in this unique and fun tournament.

Since 1971, girls have dominated the tournament, and this year's competition was no exception, with a predominantly female field. The tournament has a rich history, but detailed information on its rules, past winners, and other specifics can be found on local sports or cycling federation websites in Duesseldorf or by contacting the event organizers directly.

The Montessori Grundschule Lindenstraße successfully defended their title from last year, demonstrating their continued dominance in the competition. Younger participants covered a 15-meter distance, while older ones navigated a 20-meter course in the speed category. The final rounds began at 14:30, marking the culmination of another successful Duesseldorf Bicycle Wheelie Tournament.

During the final rounds of the Duesseldorf Bicycle Wheelie Tournament, Nene Yokoi, Ella Multrack, and Dana Heinke emerged victorious in the Girls B (11-12 years) category. Meanwhile, in the style competition, Anisa Dashlani impressed judges with her smooth wheelies on a straight line.
