Dietzenbacher Waldstadion Summer Camp Thrives with Pedagogical Finesse and Local Support

The Dietzenbacher Waldstadion played host to a summer camp for 310 children aged 5-12 during the last two vacation weeks, offering a unique blend of sporting activities, fun, and educational experiences.

In the first week, 170 children participated, with numbers swelling to 140 in the second week. The camp received support from local sponsors annually, including the city of Dietzenbach, Knecht Baustoffe, and EDIE-Strom - the electricity product of the Stadtwerke Dietzenbach.

The care provided at the camp is characterized by pedagogical finesse, sporting experience, and engagement. The sports activities are driven by voluntary commitment and strong local support. Fun is the main focus in all sports activities.

Approximately 65 children train daily on the two football pitches of the Waldstadion. The football program's focus is on enjoying movement and making first contact with the ball. Five groups of five children each are supervised on the tennis courts. The tennis area's leader, Thomas Peterson, mentioned a special "Beat the Tennis Star" competition on Thursday.

The training programs are deliberately age-appropriate and experience-oriented. Over 50 children participate in the gymnastics program on the neighboring open-air cinema grounds.

The camp's team consisted of 32 female and male trainers, plus two helpers, in the first week, with 37 trainers in the second week. Bettina Benz from the organizing team expressed gratitude to all sponsors who support the camp every year.

Mayor Dr. Dieter Lang praised the team at the camp opening, stating that the work being done is both sporting and socially valuable for the city. The summer camp at Dietzenbacher Waldstadion is a shining example of community spirit and a testament to the power of local support in fostering a fun, educational, and engaging environment for children.

Other sports, such as tennis and gymnastics, are also part of the diverse offerings at the Dietzenbacher Waldstadion summer camp, in addition to football. The "Beat the Tennis Star" competition, scheduled for Thursday, promises to be an exciting event for the children participating in the tennis program.
